SafeAeon at MISA BC 2025: Highlights from Victoria

Introduction

The MISA BC 2025 event has concluded in the beautiful city of Victoria, BC. The event started on September 8 at the Victoria Conference Centre. The conference brought together renowned industry leaders and innovators in municipal IT and cybersecurity. It was a proud moment for SafeAeon to be a key part of the prestigious event. Here’s a quick recap of our journey through the event.

Day 1 - Boat Ride in Victoria: A Perfect Start to the Event

For our team, the event began with a superb boat ride. It was a beautiful day in Victoria, BC. It wasn’t the bright sunshine everybody hoped for, but the weather was pleasantly mild for exploring the city.

The boat ride was shared by SafeAeon, MYRA Systems and Arista Networks. Guests from all three companies joined together for a fun ride. It was great to socialize, learn about each other’s business, and explore areas of collaboration.

While the overall boat ride was enjoyable, the main highlight was spotting a whale expelling water from its blowhole.

Victoria is full of natural beauty, and we saw a tiny bit of that. As dusk fell, the illuminated skyline of the city came alive. We all loved the breathtaking view of the city. We were not expecting the boat ride to be this great, but it got us all pumped up for the event.

We had the opportunity to listen directly to decision-makers and understand their vision to shape the future of our communities. The conversations highlighted opportunities and hurdles faced by municipalities in balancing innovation with security. There was a strong emphasis on collaboration between municipalities, technology partners, and solution providers to create smarter, safer, and well-connected communities.

After a day full of knowledge sharing, the team wrapped up with a reception and dinner. All the main participants joined in a more relaxed setting. The evening was all about conversations, laughter, and strengthening relationships. And of course, delicious food kept the energy high. That’s how we concluded our day 2 at the event.

Day 3 – At the Heart of the Exhibit Hall

On Day 3, we spent most of our time at Frank Carson Hall. The space was packed with visitors exploring the latest innovations and taking demos. We had an in-depth discussion with municipal IT leaders, technology providers, and peers from across BC.

Our partners, MYRA Systems, stood alongside us as we demonstrated how our cybersecurity services can be a part of digital transformation for local governments. Many attendees visited our booth to ask questions and learn more about our cybersecurity innovations. It was encouraging to see a strong interest in making cybersecurity a top priority for communities moving forward.

MISA BC 2025 was a successful event on many fronts. It underlined how stronger collaboration can help build secure and resilient communities. The event has inspired us to keep pushing forward and support municipalities with the right technology solutions.
